Public Comment 7/16/2024 from Miranda HernandezAimee Brunckhorst From: Miranda Hernandez <mhernandez2852@yahoo.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2024 7:58 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Public Comment 7/16/2024 My name is Miranda Hernandez and I live at 470 Antelope Trail, Whitefish, MT 59937. I would like to submit a public comment on the special work session on July 16, 2024. The Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh has said "Poverty creates anger, hatred, and wrongdoing. "I urge you not to revoke the Flathead Warming Shelter CUP. There must be a solution that alleviates both sides of the argument. Perhaps the Shelter could be relocated, or more funds could be allocated to transport individuals, or offer drug rehabilitation. Homelessness is on the rise as the class gap increases. It is not to blame the Warming Center. They are part of the solution. Hopefully you could be as well. Removing the Warming Shelter will not solve homelessness, but it does help individuals when they are having a difficult time. The Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh also said "We are responsible for everything that happens around us." Miranda Hernandez
