Warming Center Public Comment from Allison Atherton (2)Aimee Brunckhorst From: Allison Atherton <v4n1sh13@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2024 9:25 AM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Warming Center I live on 400 a month to pay my bills. If I didn't own my house and property I would be homeless again. The Warming Center would be my salvation from the cold temperatures that we get in the winter. Please don't close the Warming Center. To help the homeless situation build more affordable housingthat people can actually afford. This city has the least amount of services to help the homeless. I know this because I have been homeless in other states and they have more services, like a soup kitchen and a day center with resources to help people all in one building. What do we have the bare minimum to help people get off the streets. Keep the Warming Center open and add more services to help those that are homeless. I have lived in the valley for 40 plus years and there is major improvement that needs to be made to help the homeless. That is if you're interested in even helping them. I did go to the chamber and none of you looked interested in hearing any comments from anyone on what was on the agenda. That told me that you don't care about what people have to say.
