Dear City Council mem
I would like to direct your attention to the canopy trees along 1 st Ave East, which you are considering
removing for a bike lane.
As a resident, this is upsetting. We do not have enough persons commutingvia bicycle to validate this
expansion. While it could be argued that there would be more, with the addition of a bike lane the
amount of persons who would utilize during cold, wet, and winter months is not significant enough.
Additional concerns
- increase cost and time for snow removal
- increase run-off
- increase temperatures in those neighborhoods from lack of coverage
- decrease home value
- these canopy trees are known in this town by longtime locals, it brings a special appeal to this part of
1 st Ave.
