Warming Center Public Comment from Laura WelchAimee Brunckhorst From: Laura Welch <laurawelchmt@gmail.com> Sent: Saturday, July 13, 2024 5:37 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Warming Center To whom it may concern, I am reaching out to let you know that I and my family are very supportive of the Flathead Warming Center. It is all of our responsibilities as community members to support our neighbors, whether they are fortunate enough to have a home or not. Here in the Flathead Valley, we are privileged to have access to city and nonprofit services that fulfill everyone's basic human needs for safety, comfort, and fellowship. The Flathead Warming Center is a key part of this system and integral to our community as a whole. I have traveled to many places in the world that lack sufficient social services, and I would hate to see the same heartbreaking and disturbing chaos in our own beautiful town should the Flathead Warming Center be unable to stay open. Our most vulnerable neighbors deserve access to the services provided by the Center; supporting them is the logical and humane thing to do. I encourage you to watch this short video to learn a few reasons the Warming Center must remain: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/HFNxY5DeVo4Nu3Ro/?mibextid=KsPBc6 Thank you for your time!
