A special meeting of the Kalispell City -County Planning Board
etas held on Tuesday, August.31, 1976 at-8:00 p.m. in the
Plathead County Health Service Center Meeting Room,
723 5th. Avenue-E.

The meeting of the Kalispell City -,County Planning Board was
called to order by President Fran 011endtke at 8:10 p.m.
Steve Petri.n Uirevtewed the original proposal for annexation
of the Gilman Addition and the revised proposal of the
Gilman Annexation and read the Staff Report. President Fran
011endtke asked if there were any comments from people in
attendance. Six residents of the area spoke agatns:t the
proposal. Their reasons for opposition are as follows:
1. Pedestrtan and children safety;
2. No sidewalks exist in the area;
3. No adequate recreation areas exist;
4. Covenants have been changed a number of times without
notice to the property owners in the area;
5. And increased traffic on the streets wtthtn the
netghborhood.
Mr. Gilman spoke i,n favor of the proposed development
emphasizing the fact that the development proposed would be
in compliance wttfi the city's No. 1 Restdenttal Dts:trtct.
After discussion by members of the Board, James Thompson
moved that the Gilman Addition Annexation No. 67 to the
City of Kalispell be dented because the density, proposed
within the development exceeds that of -the. adopted
Comprehensive Development Plan. The motion was seconded by
William Lupton and the following votes were cast:
3 votes for the motion, 1 vote against the motion and
2 abstinenttons. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board,
President Fran 011endtke adjourned the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
