Tronstad Meadows Thoughts Public Comment from Mary ChinAimee Brunckhorst From: Mary Chin <sunshine54@icloud.com> Sent: Monday, June 17, 2024 12:08 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Tronstad Meadows Thoughts Mayor and Council Members, I urge you to please vote no to the proposed huge development on Tronstad Meadows as I see so much wrong with that development. I'm a resident of Kalispell, although I don't personally live in that immediate area, but I have friends who do and I use Tronstad Road frequently. The community has brought up so many good points in opposition to it, which I whole heartedly agree with and don't need to elaborate. It is obvious that Kalispell needs more housing but there seems to be a lot of building currently going on and Quail Meadows and other developments have not sold out. I would like you to consider setting aside that parcel of land for a different type of development. I would propose that it be set aside as an active adult (over55) community. I see a great need for this type of development in our community and as older people move into it, the houses they currently live in would be sold and become available. This type of development/community should consist of one story, ADA accessible houses, have a community clubhouse and walking trails as well as having adequate egress points and space for snow removal. These homes will still generate taxes, not impact our schools and would produce much less traffic than the proposed Tronstad Meadows development. Please vote NO to this high density housing development and YES to wise planning for the future. Thankyou, Mary Chin Kalispell, MT
