SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 2025 Preliminary Budget — Call for Public Hearing and
Authorization of Limited Expenditure of Funds
MEETING DATE: June 17, 2024
BACKGROUND: The Process of budget setting and approval requires the preparation and
publication of a preliminary budget for consideration by the council and the public. The preliminary
budget has now been produced by city staff, presented to the council, and published on the website.
The council discussed the preliminary budget at the May 7, and May 8, 2024, work sessions. Staff is
requesting the council call for a public hearing and approve the expenditure of funds within the fiscal
year 2025 preliminary budget for salaries, maintenance, operation, and projects until the final budget
is adopted.
RECOMMENDATION: Council make a motion to authorize the expenditure of funds from
the Fiscal Year 2025 preliminary budget necessary for day-to-day operations of the city and
schedule a public hearing for Monday, July 1, 2024.

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Kalispell has reviewed the Preliminary
Budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year and said budget is open to inspection in the Finance Office and
on the City's website at htt2s://www.kalispell.com/ArchiveCenterNiewFile/Item/260.
The City Council will meet on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers at City Hall, 201 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana to conduct a formal Budget Hearing
and transact regular business. Anyone wishing to address the proposed Budget may appear at this
hearing in person or online and make oral statements or present the same in writing. Written
comments may be submitted for Council consideration by delivering the same to the City Clerk at
201 First Avenue East, Kalispell, MT 59901, (PO Box 1997, 59903) or by email to
publiccommentgkalispell.com prior to the hearing.
On August 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, the City Council will
meet to adopt the final budget and fix tax levies. For more information on the budget, please contact
