Support for the Flathead Warming Center from Anne & Andy MillerJudi Funk From: anne miller <raggedyaa@outlook.com> Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2024 3:22 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Support for the Flathead Warming Center May 19,2024 Kalispell City Council: This email is to express our support for the Flathead Warming Center which elicits admiration from most of our community citizens. We urge your sensible and sensitive response to continuing the FWC's Conditional Use Permit. We cannot imagine what would occur if our fellow citizens were cast out. They won't disappear as some hope. We say 'not on our watch'. Heaven forbid. Thank goodness there are wise and caring Montana communities who demonstrate attention and preparedness to this concern: >Butte's Public celebration to kick-off current construction for expanding their homeless shelter >Missoula's Maw stating that their Johnson Street Shelter funding "is a priority for her office" >Bozeman's City Council continuing to better serve their unhoused by transporting and setting up more 'housing' (per Williston, ND prototype) These Communities and their leadership have earned huge respect and thunderous avvlause from citizens who are vavin2 attention to what matters most. Will you do the same. vlease? Having been involved with the volunteer coordination efforts for the FWC from the beginning, we are aware that our most honorable and selfless community citizens step up and want to help. We cannot think of another more admirable trait than that of those who hear the cry of the desperate and step up. They consider it 'an honor' to volunteer for and support the efforts of the FWC. They are the honorable ones who deserve superior distinction. May they be held in the highest esteem, in the same way they hold up and esteem, as fellow neighbors, those who are currently without a home. We can only urge you to consider how you are going to care for humanity right here on your doorstep. Thank you, Andy and Anne Miller 1 406-270-9055
