Subject: EXTERNAL Rescind low barrier for the warming center
Hello,
I am emailing in regards to the warming center and rescinding the low barrier. I am a young mother who
has lived in Kalispell her whole life. It truly breaks my heart to see how downhill Kalispell has gone since
the warming center has welcomed it's occupants into our backyards. This town does not feel as safe as it
once did. I don't feel comfortable going on walks with my baby by myself and I feel sad that none of our
parks feel safe anymore.
Ever since the incident with Matt at fuel fitness (my husband and I were long term members), I have
worried about my dad whom works close by and is often by himself. He has had to kick people off of his
front porch and this makes me extremely uncomfortable for him.
This center does nothing for the betterment of its occupants. It's a crutch for those who do not want to
improve themselves and overcome their circumstances. I understand the need for help but this is not the
location to do so. Furthermore, we should be encouraging health and longterm stability for these
individuals.
Bottom line, we need safety and stability in our neighborhoods. Not to mention the lowering of property
value. Kids should be able to walk in their yard and play in parks without their parents worrying about
human excrement, needles, profanity and physical safety.
Thankyou foryour attention to this matter
Sincerely,
McKenna Reyna
