Chamber of Commerce
1. Welcome- Members present: Sue Corrigan, Diane Medler, Diane Stout, Mark
Schickendantz, Mary Pat Murphy, Gail Erickson, Carrie Nelson, Tia Robbin,
Susanne Wigginton and Museum Director Brit Clark.
2. Consent Agenda-
a) February minutes- an update was requested to include that Katharine
recused herself from discussion regarding the MMIA roof insurance claim.
b) Treasurer’s report for February 2024- Accepted.
c) Budget- Brit noted a correction on the budget regarding payroll.
d) Executive Committee- A call for nominations for the Vice President was
made. Diane Stout accepted the nomination.
3. Fundraising-
a) Great Fish Community Challenge- The Mansion values participation in
the Great Fish Community Challenge fundraiser. A motion was made,
seconded and carried that the Mansion would like to participate in the
Great Fish Community Challenge again in 2024 with the primary use of
funds being the support our mission statement (preserve & exhibit the
mansion through public tours, educational programs, and community
events). $20,000 was selected as the fundraising goal. Last year’s goal
was $15,000 and $18,000 was raised.
b) Room Sponsorships Committee Report (Teri)- Gail shared updates
on room sponsorships. The Gazebo has been added as a “room” to
sponsor for $1000.
4. Facilities-
a) New Venue planning committee- Discussions continue regarding
conceptual plans.
b) Brick Project- Robert will install the bricks from the Brick project as soon
as the ground thaws. Two options for placement include: 1) Bordering the
Carriage path and 2) A new option to place in flower bed in front of
house. The carriage path option was selected.
5. Executive Director’s report- Brit reviewed her report and provided updates
on upcoming tours and events. Tickets to all events will be available online using
the EventBrite system. Ticket links are available on website. Customers will have
the option to cover the cost the ticket processing fee (3%). Brit also shared
some highlights from the recent MAM (Museum Assoc. of MT) conference in
Lewistown. Joni Lewis will start the garden season on April 1st. Two or three
guides will be hired for the summer season beginning on May 15th.
