Continuum of Care Public Comment from Kyle Waterman[NOTICE: This message includes an attachment -- DO NOT CLICK on links or open attachments unless you know the content is safe.]
Dear Kalispell City Council,
I ran across this info graphic recently as I was researching the continuum of care for homeless services. I wanted to share it with you just to help explain how complicated and interdependent
crisis care is in a community.
Shelters play a part in the solution in the continuum of care but are not the primary provider of crisis services. Another part of solution is the behavioral health and addiction services
provided by agencies like Western Montana Mental Health Center, where I am currently the Board Chair.
Western contracts with the State of Montana to provide services locally and in 18 counties. We are in recovery from some challenging years but working to re-establish our services to
prior levels across our service area.
I will be attending this evenings meeting and happy to answer any questions that Council might have about our status or how we are working with Flathead County Co-Responders and those
in need of our services.
Thank you again for your service to our community. Let us know if there is anyway we can partner and help.
Sincerely,
Kyle
