Attempted Kidnapping
Update May 10, 2024
On May 101", the Kalispell Police Department notified the Flathead County Attorney's
Office of new information in this case. As a result of this information the charge of
Attempted Kidnapping will not be filed. The male suspect, Aaron Kupka, will remain held
on a Probation Violation. Further, a 16 year -old juvenile male has been charged with
filing a false police report. Due to the status of the minor, limited information is being
released.
On May 8, 2024, at 10:19 PM, Kalispell Police Officers were called to a
physical disturbance that was occurring in the parking lot of Town Pump off
Cemetery Rd and Highway 93 South. Officers arrived and discovered that
the reason for the altercation was due to a man attempting to physically
pull a 16-year-old male into his vehicle, after what was described as an
attempt to lure the teen. After speaking with witnesses, officers arrested
38-year-old Kalispell resident Aaron Douglas Kupka. Kupka was taken to
Flathead County Detention Center for incarceration, where he was held on
an initial charge of Kidnapping (Felony) and a Probation Violation.
