BACKGROUND: Annually the city solicits for contractor support for road restoration projects. Project
support includes furnishing materials, labor, and equipment required to mill city streets, taper mill city
streets, reconstruct city streets, or mill and overlay city streets. Road restoration projects are located
throughout the incorporated limits of the City of Kalispell and work is completed on an as needed basis
with the issuance of work orders.
BIDDING RESULTS: Bids were received and opened on February 21, 2024, at 2:35 pm. Two
responsive bids were received and are summarized below.

complete the projects as bid. Public Works recommends awarding the bids to LHC, Inc.
ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to award the 2024 Milling and Paving contract to LHC, Inc.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Material orders for this contract are budgeted and will be funded through the
following sources:
1. Special Street Maintenance Fund: "Pavement Repairs — Pavement Maintenance" line item 4
2500-421-430244-354.
2. Gas Tax Fund: "Overlay and Chip Seals" line item 42420-421-430240-368
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
