Feb 20_ 2024 agenda item G_ SLIPA grant Public Comment from Maggie DavisDear Kalispell City Council members, Consideration of infrastructure investments is highly competitive, but supporting a reliable HVAC system at the historic Central School, home of the Northwest Montana History Museum, should be added to the priority list for funding with a SLIPA grant. The private sector has made and continues to make substantial donations of money and time to the preservation of this unique building and the history of this area. Both are irreplaceable! The city-owned building needs reliable heating and cooling to maintain its historical archives and collections, while also offering its primarily volunteer staff safe, comfortable working conditions. The 1894 facility is a prominent Kalispell landmark for residents and visitors alike. It merits city participation in funding this “big ticket”, major upgrade of its HVAC system through a SLIPA grant. Thank you, Maggie Davis, member NMHM, POB 788, Lakeside MT 59922 Sent from my iPad
