Box 200523 Helena, MT 59620 Historic Preservation Grant Program: The Scandinavian Methodist Church at 203 5th Ave W, is an early example of Kalispell history, and is of historic value to our community as it is one of the last churches of its kind in Montana as others have been damaged and lost forever. The proposed repairs are important to the longevity of the building. Additionally, the proposed improvements such as a ramp and making the upstairs rooms accessible and functional will allow community groups and clubs to have meeting spaces. Finally, the health and comfort of the public visitor is addressed with improvements such as asbestos removal, added insulation, lead paint containment, and mold prevention. In conclusion, the City of Kalispell supports this project as a good example of historic preservation. Respectfully, Mayor Mark Johnson City of Kalispell 201 1'Avenue E Phone(406)758-7756 PO BOX 1997 City Of Kalispell www.kalispell.com Kalispell,MT 59903
