Davis, S/Letter to Council members and the publicCouncil Members and People of Kalispell,
I recall one of you asking the City Airport manager Monday night,
how much land would one need to build a new airport. He told you 260
acres. I asked the same question of the F.A.A. when I was investigating
the possibility of relocation of our city airport and they told me 150
to 160 would be plenty for a B-2, 4300' runway.
This is just another example of the flawed information you all are
receiving from the staff. And it just doesn't make sense. We only have
70 plus acres, so now we need to buy 180 plus more acres to expand our
airport? That's what the City Airport manager told you. Again, please be
aware you the council are being feed faults information and are not and
have not been told the real facts from the city staff and management.
And as for the 39 assurances the F.A.A. demand of the city, they
are not negotiable The City can NOT have a noise ordnance attached to
the airport property if you want F.A.A. funding, and we will not be able
to say what aircraft can be there, or the hours of operations. Beware
when they say, oh that won't happen. Like one of the Councilman said,
you build the road bigger they build bigger and bigger trucks. Same go's
for an airport. More noise, less safety, larger and faster aircraft, and
the city will have no control of modification of the 39 assurance.
There's a fine line between easements and condemnation. The people
of Kalispell should know what little differences there is. And what
council member would allow and agree to such actions on the Wise family
and others out there.
And please beware, If I recall correctly from a conversation with
Mr. Gary Gates, F.A.A. will not fund an expansion of this airport unless
it is realigned. Something to do with the Flight path's coming in and
out over the south and north ends. I think it has something to do with
that new housing development we allowed out there and the schools and
residents to the north. ( will be checking on that )
Please call me if you have any questions.
Quiet Skies are not only 5 people, that was the names of the five people
that drafted that one piece information of hundreds to help you. The
city have received hundreds if not thousands of calls, and e-mails, and
letters from the people of the city. Has not the Council received these
messages? Has the City Staff and Managers not forwarded these to you? Is
it not clear why the residents voted in a new Mayor and ousted city
council members and City Managers? Have you not heard the people telling
you to fire the City Airport Manager and question the legalities of the
City Attorneys advice and actions in city matters? And the actions of
that one council member questioning the actions of the Mayor at a public
forum, does he not remember he only won his election by only 46 votes
from someone nobody hardly knew. People are watching and hearing this,
and all council members should be happy to receive advice and help from
there public that put them there to speak for them.
