It would be welcome news that the Flathead area legislative delegation had informed themselves of planning efforts in Kalispell and other Flathead County municipalities. Kalispell in
particular has worked hard to anticipate growth and infrastructure needs. These efforts have been complicated at times by the County Commission's position of not regarding its Growth
Policy as a relevant or guiding document.
We expect our legislators to give full attention to the local perspectives on land use decisions before they vote. Apparently, their views on "local control" and "citizen participation"
seem to be inconsistent.
