Condroski/You will lose my tourism dollars by closing Kalispell airportHello-
I am a resident of Colorado, but I fly up to the great states of Montana
and Idaho multiple times each year. I especially enjoy Glacier National
Park, and I have flown into Kalispell many times in the past to visit
the town and the park.
I have heard that some groups have an interest in closing the airport.
It would be a foolish mistake to consider closing a self-funded
enterprise fund airport. Pilots that fly to Montana for vacations often
have considerable financial resources and spend their dollars in your
town, which is very close and convenient to the airport (even by
walking). It doesn't cost the town a dime--it actually makes money for
the businesses.
If the airport is closed, you will miss out on my trips to the area,
along with my hotel stays, dinners, shopping around town, and fuel
purchases at the airport.
I have found that Idaho is very aviation-friendly, which attracts pilots
from all over the nation. Montana needs to keep up their image of a
great aviation-friendly state to visit, with convenience for pilots to
stop in the Kalispell area.
