Trexler/Kalispell City airport S27To whom it may concern:
Please accept this email as my strong endorsement for the maintaining of
this airport. As a pilot who regularly flies to airports all across the
State of Montana, I can attest to the value of having an airport close
to the business district of the community. While Glacier Park
International is a nice airport, there are several advantages that
Kalispell City provides over GPI. First, for those of us who often do
business in Kalispell and travel by air, Kalispell City is much more
convenient. Second, Those of us who fly privately owned aircraft often
find ourselves looking for places to land where we aren’t competing with
regional and national air carriers for airspace. Third, the airport
provides additional safety for pilots and jobs for local residents.
It is my understanding that there are those suggesting that Kalispell
City should be closed, and the traffic moved to GPI. This would be a
mistake. For many of us, it would often mean the difference between
flying into Kalispell and spending the day doing our business versus not
coming unless it was extremely necessary. S27 provides a vital link in
the access to your community. It would be a shame to see that link
broken.
Sincerely,
David Trexler,
Bynum, Montana.
