09-19-23 Conrad Mansion Museum Board of Directors MinutesConrad Mansion Museum Board of Directors Sept 19, 2023, 4:00-5:00 p.m. Conrad Mansion 1. Welcome- Members present: Chris Vick, Cate Webber, Diane Medler, Gary Havens, Natalie Robinson, Teri Iwerson, Mark Schickendantz, Mary Pat Murphy, Diane Morton Stout, Gail Erickson, Carrie Nelson and Museum Director Brit Clark. 2. Consent Agenda- August meeting minutes and Treasurer's report accepted. 3. Grants/Sponsorships a) Flathead Electric School Tour sponsorship- Sue has submitted a proposal to Flathead Electric for how funds will be used on tours and long-term goals for the student tour program. b) Great Fish Challenge- This year's participation was a success. Contributions to the Mansion exceeded our goal and were an increase from last year. This event is low impact on the house. A Whitefish Community Foundation reception will be held at the Wachholz Community Center at FVCC on Oct. 24t" 4. Fundraising a) Room Sponsorships- The Dining Room and Garden shed sponsorships has not been claimed for this year. Halloween and Christmas events will compensate. S. Facilities a) New venue planning- Work is underway with Jennifer Uskoski for a site plan. 6. Executive Director's report - a) Brit shared highlights from her monthly report. The Mansion was featured in the Flathead Electric Rural MT monthly newsletter. Our tour numbers were close to 2022 with fairly equal numbers of visitor who prefer the self -guided and docent led tours. Most people who responded were out of town visitors. Lots of bus tours this year. The tour season officially ends on Oct. 15t" 7. Other Business - a) The supplies arrived to complete the Fernery skylight and the new Mansion roof is now complete. CBX did a wonderful job. b) Robert's top preservation priorities for 2024 include: Updating Mansion electrical wiring and we will need a new hot water heater. Grants have previously been submitted for the wiring. c) Executive Committee met and went over proposed Museum Assistant duties. This will be a 20-32 hour/week position. Job description will be shared when finalized. d) Chris Vick shared that he will put together a booklet on how the Mansion became a Museum. 8. 2023 Strategic plan review- Review monthly as meeting time permits. 9. Adjourn- 4:55
