TREES ARE TO BE IRRIGATED WITH AN AUTOMATICE DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM OR ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATIVE. THE
IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS TO BE ADJUSTED TO MEET THE WATER REQUIREMENTS OF THE INIDIVIDUAL PLANT
MATERIAL
9. ALL IRRIGATION SYSTEMS AND LANDSCAPED AREAS SHALL BE DESIGNED, CONSTRUCTED, OPERATED AND
MAINTAINED SO AS TO PROMOTE WATER CONSERVATION AND PREVENT WATER OVERFLOW OR SEEPAGE INTO THE

10. THE IRRIGATION CONTRACT INCLUDES SUPPLYING AND INSTALLING ALL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR A
COMPLETE, AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM. ANY ITEMS REQUIRED TO CONFORM WITH SUCH INTENT ARE

5.a.IRRIGATION COMPONENTS MAY BE SHOWN OUTSIDE PLANTING AREAS FOR GRAPHIC CLARITY ONLY.
AVOID CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM, UTILITIES, PLANTING MATERIALS AND
ARCHITECTRUAL FEATURES. INSTALL IRRIGATION PIPE AND WIRING IN LANDSCAPED AREAS WHENEVER
POSSIBLE.
5.b. VALVE BOXES SHALL BE GERERALLY LOCATED AS SHOWN ON PLANS, FINAL PLACEMENT/LOCATION SHALL
BE APPROVED BY OWNER'S REPRESETATIVE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
5.c. USE ONLY STANDARD TEES AND ELBOW FITTINGS. USE OF CROSS-T PIPE FITTINGS IN NOT PERMITTED.
3.IRRIGATION CONTROLLER LOCATION:
INSTALL IRRIGATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY IN THE APPROXIMATE LOCATION INDICATED ON THE IRRIGATION
PLANS. COORDINATE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION WITH APPROPRIATE SUB-CONTRACTOR
PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. COORDINATE EXACT PLACEMENT OF CONTROLLER WITH OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE
PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION .
4.IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT MAY BE SHOWN OUTSIDE OF THE PLANTING AREA IN THE HARDSCAPE FOR CLARITY
ONLY. ALL IRRIGATION COMPENENTS TO BE INSTALLED IN LANDSCAPED AREAS.
5.THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM DESIGN WAS DESIGNED WITH THE FOLLOWING ASSUMPTIONS:
-SYSTEM PRESSURE REQUIREMENTS 40 PSI
-GALLONS PER MIN MAX 40 GPM.
CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY AVAILABLE PRESSURE AND FLOW ON SITE AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION (POC) PRIOR
TO CONSTRUCTION AND REPORT IN WRITTING ANY DESCREPANCIES BETWEEN THESE ASSUMPTIONS AND
ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS.
6.SELECT NOZZLES FOR SPRINKLERS WITH ARCS THAT PROVIDE COMPLETE AND UNIFORM COVERAGE WITH
MINIMUM OVERSPRAY FOR THE SITE CONDITIONS. TO MINIMIZE OVERSPRAY, INSTALL PRESSURE COMPENSATING
NOZZLES OR PRESSURE COMPENSATION SCREEN IF UNIFORM LATERAL PRESSURE CANNOT BE ATTAINED WITH
PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT TO THE REMOTE CONTROL VALVE.
7.CAREFULLY ADJUST THE RADIUS OF THROW AND ARC OF COVERAGE OF EACH SPRINKLER TO PROVIDE THE BEST
PERMORMANCE AND LIMIT OVERSPRAY.
8.THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF IRRIGATON SLEEVING. SLEEVES ARE
TO BE INSTALLED FOR BOTH PIPING AND ELETRICAL WIRING AT EACH HARDSCPE CROSSING. COORDINATE
INSTALLION OF SLEEVING WITH OTHER TRADES. ANY PIPE OR WIRE WHICH PASSES BENEATH EXISTING
HARDSCAPE WHERE SLEEVING WAS NOT INSTALLED, REQUIRES HORIZONTAL BORING BY THE IRRIGATION
CONTRACTOR. SLEEVE AND CONDUIT SIZES SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF TWICE THE AGGREGATE DIAMETER OF
ALL PIPE AND WIRE CONTAINED WITHIN SLEEVE OR CONDUIT PIPE.
9.INSTALL ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE IRRIGATION CONTROL SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL
ELECTRIC CODE AND ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL ELECTRIC UTILITY CODES.
10.PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS TO THE OWNER PRIOR TO THE COMPLETON OF PROJECT.
10.a. TWO OPERATON KEYS FOR EACH TYPE OF MANUALLY OPERATED VALVE.
10.b. TWO QUICK COUPLING KEYS, EACH WITH ATTACHED SWIVEL HOSE ELL FOR OPERATION OF THE QUICK
COUPLING VALVES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS.
