Cebulski/Kalispell City AirportKalispell City Council Members, I would like to comment that closure of the Kalispell City Airport would be another spear in the heart of Kalispell's economic well being. I personally fly into Kalispell City Airport versus Glacier International because of convenience and location at least 5 to 10 times per year. Kalispell City Airport has all the amenities for general aviation. It is within walking distance of downtown with its many shops, restaurants and hotels. More then a few times a year we fly in to the airport with guests to eat brunch at the Hilton, burgers at Scotty's etc. We have stayed at hotels in the area numerous times on these trips. If my only option was Glacier International, I would take my money and go some place else. Not that I have anything against Glacier International, it is a great facility. The only option I have to get to town, is rental car or taxi which quite frankly I do not find appealing. I have known other towns which have moved their airports further from town and they have virtually died on the vine because the day trippers go someplace else that is more convenient. Keep what you have, improve it as necessary and you will be further ahead in the long run. As President of the Montana Pilots Association I will be bringing this issue to the attention of our 700+ members. Thanks for your time and consideration.
