07-18-23 Conrad Mansion Museum Board of Directors MinutesConrad Mansion Museum Board of Directors July 18, 2023, 4:00 Conrad Mansion 1. Welcome- Members present: Gail Erickson, Natalie Robinson, Gary Havens, Cate Webber, Everit Sliter, Sue Corrigan, Diane Medler, Diane Morton -Stout, Mark Schickendantz, Carrie Nelson, and Museum director Brit Clark in person and Tia Robbins via Zoom. 2. Board Review and Consent- • .tune meeting minutes accepted. Treasurer's report approved. 3. Grants/ Sponsorships - a) Flathead Electric School Tour grant ($10,000) — Sue Corrigan • Committee met with Mike Kelly from School District 5. Mansion tours that provide personalized learning for students and work with students for project based learning will be focus. • "'Wired for the Future" is the new name for school tour program. • 982 students toured Mansion in 2022 ($1/student school tour rate). Everit and Diane recommended did not recommend using this same pricing. • School partnership ideas were discussed, including starting with one school or district first year (KPS) and then expanding. Offering Teacher In -Service option was discussed. Would like to create a multi -year plan to enhance tour experience. b) Great Fish Community Challenge (Aug 10-Sep 15, 2023) • Last year the Mansion's goal was to raise $10,000. This year our goal is $15,000. • Brit encouraged volunteers to attend pop up events. Cate recommended Mansion t-shirts for events. Brit will be in charge of picking up and serving food at the Fun Run on Sept. 9t". c) Round Up for Safety - Researching options for a wheelchair lift will be put on the back burner until things quiet down with the roof and other current projects. 4. Fundraising a) Room Sponsorships- Still waiting on payment for a few rooms (The Fernery, Dining Room, and Butler's Pantry). b) Garden Shed Sponsor- $5,000 will cover the cost of the shed. Donors? S. Facilities a) Roof • Roof installation is going very well. CBX has been very professional. Guides are including a few "nooks and crannies" extras to compensate for third floor not being included in tour during roof construction. b) New venue planning- committee report - Robert will check on easements from city. Locate gas and water lines with U-Dig. 6. Museum Director's Report- • Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social went well. It was busier in the house than last year. Not as much was contributed to donation boxes at the ice cream tables. Ice cream went quickly. Re-evaluate amount of ice cream and price next year. • June visitation was down (all over, not just at the Mansion). July numbers are looking better. 7. Strategic Plan Overview- summary. 8.
