Walking Audit Invitation from Dianna Kintzler, Summit Independent Living[NOTICE: This message includes an attachment -- DO NOT CLICK on links or open attachments unless you know the content is safe.]
Hello,
my name is Dianna Kintzler and I am the Flathead/Lincoln County Coordinator for Summit Independent Living. We are an advocacy agency for people with disabilities. We would like to invite
you on a walking audit of a small portion of our city to demonstrate inaccessibility to your disabled constituents. We have experienced difficulty with some sidewalks and crossings
that do not meet basic accessibility requirements or standards. These areas of concern pose obstacles and create safety concerns to those with physical disabilities. We will be performing
this walking audit on the sixth of September and will be assembling at the Kalispell Center Mall parking lot at 1:30 p.m. We would greatly appreciate your presence and participation
in this endeavor. We feel this would allow you to better understand, firsthand, these issues that affect a significant number of your constituents. Your insight would be appreciated
in helping protect your citizens’ most basic of needs. It is our hope that this will just be the first step in a prosperous partnership to address this and future concerns over accessibility
and general advocacy. Through your participation you will be fostering the continued independence and freedom of the disabled community as well as sending a message to the community
that these issues will not go unnoticed.
Thank you,
Dianna Kintzler
