P. J. Sorensen
1. FONSI —Scott indicated he was not able to reach Gary Cates for additional information. He will call Pati
once he reaches him.. Once the FCNSI is received, Phil Porrini will come and speak to the group about next
steps regarding application to the FAA.
2. Beacon — The beacon electrical bid was $1430 from Thomas. Scott will get another bid from Marathon. He
will also check with Public works to see if the signs & signals group may have the correct resources to do
the work.
3. Fencing off of Diamond Air Scott spoke with Charlie Harball, the City Attorney, regarding serving
papers on Diamond Air. Charlie feels that claims should be made against Diamond but there is nothing to
get back from them.. It is felt we should keep them from use of the airport. It was decided to send registered
written notice to fence them out and to contact Mild Fence Co. to begin the process by staking out the fence
line and setting posts.
4. Revenue Projections —Scott indicated that he had spoken with several other members and felt one way to
increase revenues would be to pave ataxi-way and lay out markers indicating new hanger lease areas.
Questions were brought forth regarding the how utilities would be deployed and who would pay for the
infrastructure.
This conversation led to two others:
Current budget standings and uncollected revenue. Pati went over the worksheets (see
attachments). Scott agreed to work with Pati on leases and user fees to determine collection efforts.
Airport Management. What is the best overall management situation for the airport? Discussion
included GPI Airport Authority having a possible management role. Further discussion is necessary
as we move forward.
5. Construction Schlegel and Sons Contractors Inc made a request to build in the Airport Protection Zone.
They are tired of waiting and plan to move forward. They feel if the City has to buy them out, that's how it
goes. There is nothing we can do to stop them. The county will need to look at it.
6. Meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
