Ban on BBQ grills in apartments from Anonymous
To the city council,
We were just notified by our property manager that effective August 15, 2023 we will no longer be able to have a BBQ grill on our patio. We would like to know how a city that is
home to legal cannabis shops, numerous casinos and betting establishments has now outlawed grills? We have a number of questions regarding this new rule. Is the penalty for using the
grill or is just owning it illegal? What is the punishment? Eviction? Fines? Jail? Who will enforce this? Police? Fire Dept.? Landlords? Or are you going to rely on public snitches?
Can you provide statistics showing large numbers of apartment fires caused by
Bbq's as opposed to kitchen stoves, candles, smoking, etc. We purchased our grill at the beginning of summer to avoid having to heat up our apartment with the stove and oven and to
be able to cook if the power goes out. Is the council going to buy back our grill? Please reconsider this absurd rule.
Thank You
