All Minutes From 1961December 13, 19bl A noon luncheon meeting was held at the Buffalo Room of the Montana Hotel with members Don McKinnon, Vern Homuth, Pete McClintick, Charles Hash, Harley Houston, Cliff Vinje, Charles Young and Forest Farris present. A discussion of payment of $1500 to. be paid to Ron Thompson and Associates was held. A motion was made by Harley Houston and seconded by Pete McC lintick to make payment of $1500 for planning which was 90% completed. The Motion was passed. Charles Hashinstructed secretary to write a letter of condolence to Mrs. Percy Lenon. The meeting was adjourned Forest Farris, Secretary A regular meeting of the Flathead -Kalispell City -County Planning Board was called to order bt President Hash, June 6, 1961, 7:30 p.m., at County Commissioners office. Present were: Charles Hash Harley Houston Don McKinnon Charles Young Pete McClintock Cliff Vinge Forest Farris Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Requisition for $1500.00 payment read. Motion made by McClintock, seconded by Houston, that payment be made to Thompson & Associates in the amount of $1500.00 for work completed to date. Motioned passed. Motion made by McKinnon that our budget be set at $2500.00; seconded by Young, and passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Forest Farris Secretary A special meeting of the Flathead-Kalis-ell City -County Planning Board was held May 17, 1961 at a noon luncheon held at Hennessy's. The meeting Was called to meet with Ron Thompson representing; Thompson & Associates. Present were: Charles Hash Mayor Tom Flynn Pete McClintock Don McKinnon Oscar Wendt Harley Houston, Vern Homuth Forest Farris Ron Thompson gave us a report on present findings of surveys made and asked for extension of time on traffic survey. Motion made by Vern Homuth and seconded by Harley Houston that a survey be made the week of May 22nd to get a count and flow )' of school traffic, andone be made in July to.cover tourist and freight haul with survey to be completed about August 1st for presentation to the board. Meeting adjourned a6 1:30 P.M.. orestt Farris ecreiary The regular meeting of the Flathead -Kalispell City -County Planning Board was called to order by President Hash, April 25, 1961 at 7:45 p.m, at County Commissioners office. Present were: Charles Hash Harley Houston Charles Young Don McKinnon Cliff Vinje Forest Farris A motion was made by Harley Houston, that all members of planning board meet with Harley Friday, May 12; seconded by Charles Young; passed. A motion by McKinnon that property owners along the strip be advised we will meet with them to hear the information available on the 1,000( ft. media which is being planned for that section of Highway 2 along said strip. Seconded by Vinge and passed. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p*m.. Forest Farris Secretary February 28, 1961 The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M. by president Charles Hash with the following members present: Vernon Homuth, Harley Houston, Cliff Vinge, Charles Young, Pete McClintick, Charles Hash, and Forest Farris. A brief report was given by Harley Houston on the tour of the proposed truck by-pass route. Those making the tour were: Ray Spurzem, Don McKinnon, Harley Houston, and Ron Thompson. A motion was made by Pete McClintick and seconded by Vern Homuth that the requisition for $1500 payment to Ron Thompson and associates be made. The motion was carried. The requisition stated that 45% of the total work covered by the contract has been performed. A motion was made by Harley Houston that expenditures of $12.15 for supplies be paid. The motion was seconded by Cliff Vinge and passed. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M. Forest E. Farris, Sec. January 24, 1961 The meeting was called to order by President Charles 'Hash at 7:45 P. M. , with members of Columbia Falls and-"": Kalispell City County Planning Boards present. The meeting was carried on by Ron Thompson for the purpose of discussing proposed planning set forth by the contractor, Ron Thompson and associates. Mr. Thompson suggested they join the Columbia Falls and Kalispell areas by a,, -.strip along the:La Salle highway to include the county airport. February 11, 1961 was set as a date to drive and discuss some of the proposed truck bypass routes. The secratary was instructed to contact Ray S purzem to make this survey with Mr. Thompson and members of the planning board. Mr. Thompson proposed that a sub -committee work with the Chamber of Commerce agricultural committee on the agricultural survey. Mr. Thompson also suggested that we as the planning board give some thought to the zoning height restrictions, and apartment dwellings to be in the master plan. He also suggested we should start holding two meetings a month for. discussing the proposed plan. Members and visitors present: Lee Lewis Henry Byrne R. B.
