MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
DECEMBER 22,1987
CALL TO ORDER The Kalispell Zoning Commission meeting was called
AND ROLL CALL to order by President Charles Manning at 4:40
p.m. Those members present were Manning,
Reynolds, Sloan, Stephens, Hall, and Treweek.
Those members absent were Trippet (excused),
Gunnerson, and Hash (excused). David Greer,
Senior Planner, represented the Flathead Regional
Development Office.
KALISPELL ZONING Manning introduced the single agenda item of "Rec-
MAP commendation of an Official Zoning Map for the
implementation of Ordinance No. 1110, Kalispell
Zoning Ordinance".
Greer provided a brief overview of the Staff
Report and explained that the new zoning ordinance
must be implemented with an Official Zoning Map.
The proposed zoning map was displayed on the wall
alongside the existing zoning map with an
explanation of differences between the two maps.
District names have been changed but the character
of the existing zoning districts has not been
changed.
Public Hearing Manning opened the public hearing and called for
proponents to comment.
There being no comments from proponents, Manning
called for comments from opponents.
There were no comments opposed to the revised
zoning_ classifications and Manning closed the
public hearing.
Commission The Commission members expressed their familiarity
Discussion with the classifications due to the extensive work
involved- with revising the text of the ordinance.
The diagram accompanying the Staff Report was
integral to that earlier work.. The Staff Report
was accepted as the findings of fact.
Motion.' Reynolds moved that the Zoning Commission
recommend that the existing zoning districts of
Kalispell be renamed to reflect the revised
classification system of Ordinance No. 1110.
Sloan seconded the motion and it pass unanimously
on a roll call vote.
ADJOURNMENT Stephens moved to adjourn the meeting and it was
seconded by Treweek. The meeting was adjourned at
4:50 p.m.
