Lift Station was constructed in
1970. The existi ng. lift station is a
wet welfldry well. design with the
purnps located in.a below -grade
vault separate from the we well.
The lift station is nearing the end
of its design Iife with increasing
maintenance needsand assc-
ciated costs. The lift station's
design pumping capacity of 860
gallons. per.minuto (gpm) is ez-
ceeded during wet weather flows
which exceed 1,000 gpm and
there is stilt the need for addi-
tional capacity to serve expected
reasonable community growth.
To address these deficiencies
the. City will construct a new
submersible lift station an the
sane parcel as the existing
Grandvivrr Lift Station: The
submersible lift station will have
valves and Oump controls focat-
ed in a structure at ground -level
and the pumps will. be retrievable
frorn the:surface u si no. g u Ida ra i Is
and a hoist: This wi11 provide a
safer work environment for City
personnel.a..nd elIminate.the haz-
ards:of a confined space, The
lift Station will have.a design.
Pumping Capacity of 1,2f}0 gpm
to adequately handle current and
future flows and will be con-
structed according to the current
DEQ and City of Kalispell design
standards: This ivill.improve
operator safety, maintenance
efficiency, and overall reliability
of the lift station.
