Keeping people safe is important to the City of Kalispell. A city code was recently passed to help reduce the
possibility of auto accidents with pedestrians and other cars and to help the free flow of motor vehicles. It is now
unlawful to make transfers on roadways within the city. This means that people trying to sell things or ask for
donations and enter the road, or people in vehicles who stop to exchange money or items while in the road are in
violation and may receive a penalty. This includes all of the paved portion of the right-of-way except sidewalks and
medians. A vehicle must be legally parked, and all involved out of the roadway for any exchanges to be made. For
