Dear Chief Pearce:
After spending numerous hours going over your specification and in consultation with
HME / Ahrens -Fox we have made the decision not to tender a quotation for this
apparatus. While HME / Ahrens -Fox has numerous apparatus designs that would nicely
meet the performance specifications, there are a number of exceptions that would most
likely remove our competiveness for this acquisition by the City of Kalispell. This is
sometimes the case when the submitted specifications are designed around other
manufacturer's parameters.
It is my desire to make every attempt to meet each Fire Department's needs when it
comes to both apparatus and small equipment needs however, I also feel it appropriate to
be honest and up -front when I may not be able to provide exactly what is desired. Again,
HME / Ahrens Fox is well positioned to offer the performance packages you seek but
several exceptions would have to be considered. Should a re -design become an option or
if a performance based specification were to be presented I would be happy to have those
discussions.
