Subject: EXTERNAL Friday night "cruise"
I am writing to you on Friday evening at 7:36pm. There are currently 3 officers on duty for Kalispell. There are also
dozens of trucks and cars driving down Main Street at high speeds, rolling coal, and creating a lot of noise. Worse than
that, my husband was nearly hit by a truck that came screaming around the corner as we walked to our car outside Bias
Brewing. The noise from the street made normal conversation inside the restaurant impossible. The boys that nearly hit
my husband screamed at him from their truck windows. I have no confidence that these reckless drivers aren't armed to
the teeth, so we quickly got in our car and drove away.
WE NEED MORE POLICE OFFICERS. This Friday night "cruise" is out of control and sheds a very bad light on our town. It
is your job to keep us safe and feel like our lives are being protected. This situation is a disaster waiting to happen. The
speed at which these cars and trucks drive down Main and around the nearby neighborhoods is extremely
dangerous. Please take public safety seriously.
Sincerely,
Valeri McGarvey
