Hello ! This is Mike from Bushy Tail over by Albertsons .
I just wanted to write in our strong support for the proposed parks ordinance with a time frame longer than 90
minutes of course. I'll keep this short as all our thoughts about general accountability have been well covered in the
meeting by others. Given our location we are no strangers to addicts, transients, and grifters especially come summer.
From having our trash strewn about, to fires set across the street, to folks passed out in parking lots and just a general
disrespect for any place or any one ; we see it all here too. Both Harley (co-owner) and myself (Harley's aunt was the
artist behind the memorial statue in
fact) fully support any means that helps remove these people from our town be that by ordinance, moving them on until
they eventually go somewhere more welcoming, shipping them off to mental health facilities, or even just dropping
them at county lines. We do not want our town to become Portland or a safe haven for vagabonds. I would also agree
that sharps disposal containers in our parks is insanity. Drug addicts obviously wont use them , and that is something
that should be kept to pharmacies the same as unused pill drops. Seems pretty common sense but apparently not :/
Thank you for your time, and we appreciate the councils proposed band aid to this larger issue.
