Good evening,
When my husband and I moved to Kalispell ten years ago from Libby we felt safe walking the neighborhood and the
downtown area (where we reside) up until a few years ago. Now we feel compelled to carry self defense devices.
At what point does this matter go from lending a "helping" hand to that of being an enabling one? Particularly when
many of these people have no intention of changing their live style, nor do they want to.
While we have helplessly watched other cities like San Francisco, LA, Seattle and Portland go from being once beautiful
west coast metropolises into "rotting from within slums" over the past 4 decades, is this what we want for our city? I
realize there is no easy solution to this growing problem but allowing it to continue for "humanitarian" reasons isn't
either.
Those of us who are responsible, tax paying residents should have a loud voice in the future of this place we call home.
Respectfully yours,
Dave and Susan Cox
