• Judy made a motion to approve the July minutes and April seconded. All approved.

• 50/50 Tree Planting Program- was discussed that the City has advertised the program twice
looking for a contractor to assist and has come up with no bids both times. Erin gave a
couple recommendations of possible contractors. Fred B will follow up.
• Current Contract Pruning Work- a contractor is currently working on a 235-tree pruning
contract primarily located on the East Streets, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th. Fred also mentioned
that the forestry staff had been working on putting together a 40-tree removal contract for
this winter.
• Arbor Day Preplanning
o Location- The group discussed locations, and everyone seemed in favor of hosting
again at woodland park.
o Theme- Fred said he would send the tree boards running list of theme ideas and
hopefully we can decide sooner than later.
o April 28th was noted as the date for Arbor Day 2023
• Arborist Update – Colter- Replaced 15 red oaks that were not doing so hot around town with
trees acquired from the City of Missoula gravel bed nursery through a grant. Colter noted
that the forestry staff were currently pruning on 3rd St W and hoped to have wrapped up
fairly soon.
