New Business:
The Animal Clinic — 1408 Airport Rd; new freestanding sign. Will have bushes
underneath. Lit from above. Black posts, colors similar to those displayed by applicant.
Will cut down the berm in front of the building to put the existing sign on the wall (not
over roof line). Discussion regarding accuracy of colors. Bill moved to approve; John
seconded. Approved 4-1 (Janet dissenting).
3 Meridian Court — new vestibule entry and exterior remodel. Light plan to be
submitted. The trim detail look good. John moved to approve; Carol seconded.

adjusted. Will still be setback 15 ft from each property line. Bill moved to approve the
revision; John seconded. Approved 5-0.
Begg Park —new picnic shelter going into existing park. Simple post construction. Carol
moved to approve; John seconded. Approved 5-0.
Best Bet — E Idaho; remodeling to create a smokers' area. Little change to outside.

windows. John moved to approve; Janet seconded. Approved 5-0.
Best Bet — 1619 Hwy 93 S; expanding and remodeling a vestibule entry to create a
smokers' area. Matches the existing materials and colors. Carol moved to approve; John
seconded. Approved 5-0.
Silverbrook — Church Dr; new maintenance building. Match the existing well house
colors and materials. Carol moved to approve (conditioned on changing the white garage
door to brown or green); Bill seconded. Approved 5-0.
Heil — 749 W Center; new shop/showroom. Missing several items. Described color as a
mocha trim, with beige as the primary color. It is a metal building. One window on each
side (3 ft x 4 ft). Color sounds OK. They need to bring in a street elevation, colors,
landscaping, actual material samples, and photos of the area. Bill moved to table; John
seconded. Motion to table passed 5-0.
Other Discussion:
Projecting signs on Main Street has been an issue discussed several times in this
committee. The Planning Board is working on an update of the zoning ordinance, and
wants to see what ARC would like to do on this matter. Up to a 9 sq ft sign would be
OK, but could go up to 15 sq ft if there is a higher artistic standard (25% max text area,
match colors on the building) and is at least 15 ft high on the building. None should be
internally lit, and none should have any changeable copy. Bozeman would be a good
example to look at.
Sign submittals need to have good color representations to help avoid problems we have
encountered.
