A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE THIRD AND MAIN STREET PARKING LOT, DESCRIBED
AS LOTS 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, BLOCK 55, KALISPELL ORIGINAL TOWNSITE, ACCORDING
TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF ON FILE AND OF RECORD IN THE OFFICE OF THE
CLERK AND RECORDER OF FLATHEAD COUNTY, MONTANA, AND AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A BUY/SELL AGREEMENT FOR THE LOT, AS
DESCRIBED IN THE BUY/SELL AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell owns unimproved real property, currently used for surface vehicle
parking and located at Third Street West and Main Street; and
WHEREAS, consistent with the purposes set forth in the Downtown Plan to eliminate blight and
increase the tax base within the Downtown Urban Renewal District, the Kalispell City
Council approved the solicitation of a Request for Proposals for the private
development of the above -described real property beginning in December 2020; and
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2021, the Kalispell City Council accepted the recommendation of the
selection committee to approve the proposal submitted by Montana Hotel Development
Partners, LLC for the development of a hotel/hospitality complex to be located upon
the above -described real property and directed that a development agreement be
negotiated between the parties; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to MCA §7-8-4201, a 2/3`d vote of the Council is required to approve of the
transfer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City shall transfer the Third and Main Street Parking lot to Montana
Hotel Development Partners, LLC for the purpose of construction of a
Hotel/Hospitality complex.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Buy/Sell
Agreement for the Third and Main Street Parking Lot.
