BOARD MEETING

Present: Bill Goodman (chairman), Board Members: Judy Larson, Janet Clark. Mayor Kennedy,
Tom Donnelly.
Judy moved to approve Minutes of June 9, 2008 meeting. Janet second. Approved by all board
members.
LAWSUIT UPDATE: Awaiting decision by Judge Stadler. Plaintiffs have 30 days to appeal to the
Supreme Court.
BID DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION: Bill presented 3 different Director job descriptions from BIDs
inMontana. Discussion followed. Janet will make changes discussed and e-mail changes to
thosepresent. Search committee was discussed. The following people outside the board are
to be asked if they would be part of the committee: Liz Marchi, Virginia Sloan, Kristen Heck,
Tom McElwain (representing the KDA) and Kellie Danielson ( Kalispell Economic Development
Director)
This topic was discussed in anticipation of a favorable Summary Judgement decision and no
appeal by the Plaintiffs. The BID would be ready to move forward in hiring a director.
OLD BUSINESS: Kalispell Code 3-18 eliminates the distance requirement between an
establishment with any liquor license and a church, synagogue, other place of worship in the B-
4 Central Business zone and requires a distance of 300 feet between an establishment with any
liquor license and a school in General Business B-2, Community Business B-3, central Business
B-4 and the industrial Commercial B-5 City land use zones.
This topic was discussed and the Council adopted the amendment May 19, 2008.
