Main St. Kalispell, MT. Present: Bill Goodman (Chairperson), Melanie Cross, Marshall Noice, Tim Price, Jon Fetveit, Janet Clark, Katharine Thompson (City of Kalispell), Tana Rae (KDA), Nate Sanders (U.S. Bank), Karen Witt (U.S. Bank), Bobby Pfiennings (Wells Fargo). Meeting Called To Order by Bill at 7:35am. Approval of Agenda: Marshall moved, Tim second. Approved by all Board Members present. Approval of Minutes of March 25, 2009: Marshall moved, Tim second. Approved by all Board Members present. Hearing of The Public: No One Present. BUDGET AND WORK PLAN: The Montana Supreme Court ruled in favor of the BID, March 26, 2009. Bill spoke with Amy, City Finance Director, regarding time frame, we have approximately 6 weeks. Current bank balance is $111,000.00, remaining attorney fees need to be paid,we do not have that fee amount yet. The BiD will have a yearly budget of approximately $70,000.00. Bill read the BID Mission Statement and the BiD Vision Statement. Bill stated that he had spoken with Jennifer Young, City Parks & Recreation, and Jessica Brooks; they are planning on maintaining the city flower pots downtown but are asking for money from the BID to buy flowers. Janet moved that the BID allocate up to $1200.00 for flowers to be purchased for the flower pots, invoices must be presented and approved for purchases. Melanie second. Approved by all Board Members present. The following are the priorities discussed. Hire master marketing plan, develop brand and logo. Research other towns and other BIDs with intent to steal great ideas. Brand all projects the BID is involved with identifying them as our projects. Signage: Historic plaques on historic buildings in district Identifying signs on lamp posts within the district Welcome banners at north and south entrance to district BID welcome stickers or signs in business windows WEBSITE wj vacancy page etc. (get RFP) Draw more LOCALs downtown: Farmer's Market in a downtown location "Festival" events in conjunction with Farmer's Market "Cowboy Art" Tourism Visitor information kiosk Walking tour maps & brochure Expand Historic District fq I Beautification Clean sidewalks Subsidize power washing Downtown flowers J flowers in city owned planters Historic Preservation Commission Matching Grants for fagade renovation or other building improvements. More User Friendly Unified store hours for certain nights Public bikes racks Determine benefits of membership in Main Street USA program.
