Present: Bill Goodman (Chairman), Melanie Cross, Marshall Noice, Tim Price, Janet Clark, Tana Rae, KDA,

Minutes of April 1, 2009: Moved by Marshall, second by Melanie. Approved by all Board Members present.
WORKSHOP:
Board Members agree we should work on projects that have immediate and visible effect in the downtown
area.
LOGO: Bill presented logos that were e-mailed to him from Snow Goose. Positive response was received from
board in regards to logos. Marshall will take the lead for the LOGO project. All agreed that logo should be city
specific.
HISTORIC PLAQUES: Marshall and Katharine will co-ordinate this project.
BANNERS: Katharine suggested we look into the "Brown" highway signs from MDOT. An example is the sign in
front of Camus Creek designating the Hockaday Museum of Art. What about banners similar to the Hockaday
banners that are hung in the summertime on the poles on the sidewalks, perhaps these banners should be
metal. Marshall and Katharine will take this project.
WEBSiTE: We should make inquires for RFPs.
FARMER'S MARKET: Melanie met last week with the owners of Colter Coffee and Ceres Bakery. She thought
the meeting was positive and they were planning on meeting again next week to establish a market on
Thursdays, which would have a festival environment.
COWBOY ART: Marshall has spoken to Kay Lynn. The board requested a presentation.
TOURISM: Visitor Information Kiosk does not work, at this time we will only have one brochure, we need more
of a Visitor Information Center with "concierge" feel. Katharine passed around a picture of an information
display that is on the side of Showthyme in Bigfork. Discussion followed in regards to placing a similar
structure at Main and 2"d Street, southeast corner in front of parking lot. All were concerned about the weeds
and the appearance of this corner. Bill will talk to a carpenter about building a display similar to the one in
Bigfork.
WALKINGTOUR BROCHURE: Katharine reports that grants are not available for brochures. Katharine has on
out of town bid ($2500.00), 3 Kalispell bids $6800.00, $3300.00, $2900.00 plus the cost of layout ($1000.00).
Katharine will have approached the high bidder to see if ithey can be more competitive.
BEAUTIFICATION: Tim will contact Missoula and Bozeman concerning their recent hiring of full-time
maintenance. Tim will call flathead Industries concerning cleaning of sidewalks etc. Tim will also identify
location and cost of bike racks.
Meeting Adjourned 9:10am. Moved by Janet, second by Marshall. Approved by all Board Members present.
Respectfully submitted; Janet Clark, Secretary
