Elmo Fire Comment from K MitaAimee Brunckhorst From: K Mita <K.Mita@BridgerAerospace.com> Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2022 8:41 AM To: Doug Russell; Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL Elmo Fire Attachments: IMG 2777.MOV Importance: High Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Completed [NOTICE: This message includes an attachment -- DO NOT CLICK on links or open attachments unless you know the content is safe.] Mayor Johnson and Mr. Russell, I am reaching out to you as I represent Bridger Aerospace, an aerial firefighting company based out of Bozeman. The Elmo fire is receiving the attention it needs, and the USFS has assigned all four of our super scoopers to this fire. As a Montanan -based company, this is a big deal for us as it will be the first time we operate and fight fires with our scoopers for our beloved state! Additionally, we have already been flying Air Attack with our Kodiak aircraft. Having Air Attack and scoopers in MT on the same fire will also be a first for us. For a little background, the CL-415EAF super scooper is a one of a kind flying fire extinguisher. It is designed to scoop water and drop 1412 gallons per drop on a fire. (See the link below for more information.) htt s: . wwwoutube.com watch?v-fuLk5hXMRZY&t-3s .......... These aircraft are used extensively throughout Canada and Europe but not so much in the US. They fulfill a niche role and do not replace aerial assets such as Large Tankers, which drop retardant, or helicopters which are great at pinpoint drops. With all this said, if there is an interest, we'd love to host an opportunity to tour the aircraft. We are very happy to be based out of the Kalispell airport and would like to engage with local officials to thank you for your hospitality. We are very grateful to work on behalf of our great state and to be a part of the local community while on duty. Tim Sheehy, our CEO, will also be arriving later this afternoon. As a note, he and Gov. Gianforte are friends and Tim has called the Gov to have him fly in to inspect the fleet. The Gov is working out his schedule. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me on my mobile phone. I will start to drive over from Bozeman within the hour.
