On 7/23/2022 at approximately 0300 hrs the Kalispell Police Department was dispatched
to an injury crash near the intersection of East Idaho St. and 7t' Ave. EN. in Kalispell.
Upon officer's arrival, it was learned that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle which
fled the scene.
The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries sustained from the crash. Officer's located the
involved vehicle and the driver. The driver was identified as 25-year-old New York
resident, Desirea Garrera. Garrera has been placed in custody of the Flathead County
Sheriff's Detention Facility and is charged with Vehicular Homicide While Under the
Influence. This is an ongoing investigation.
