Subject: EXTERNAL Concern- Trails & Homeless Population
I want to express a concern about our increased homeless population and the littering, using Rails to Trails as tent
camps, etc. We live off Rails to Trails near the bypass / Hwy 2. We have noticed an increase in homeless camps and have
seen a few spots on the trail where they make campfires right there off the trail on the dead grass. This is making us all
at risk. They also block bike traffic on the trail under the old train tracks (close to Appleway). They litter and cross over
into private property with "No Trespassing" signs. I work near Fuel Fitness at 100 Financial Drive and if you stand on our
roof- you can see a large camp of them in the creek/woody area behind Fuel. This is becoming a real problem for our
city. How will you improve this? Are the police involved?
Thank you for reading.
