Subject: EXTERNAL Boycott KPS on Wednesdays
Dear Mayor Mark Johnson And Others:
My family moved out of the Once Great State of California to the Last Best Place in January 2020 — before COVID
lockdowns — to escape radical wokism and abominable schools in San Francisco, CA (yes, Nancy Pelosi's district).
I was disappointed to learn in August 2020 that Kalispell Public Schools decided to continue the COVID theatre charade
of wiping down all surfaces on Wednesdays, forcing kids and parents and employers to contend with perpetual "half
days" on Wednesdays, despite ample scientific evidence that there was no discernible effect with respect to COVID
transmission. I was even more disturbed when Superintendent Micah Hill persisted with the anti -science policy for
school year 2021-22. Upon confronting the superintendent over the issue, he admitted that Early Out Wednesdays was
never about COVID, but a concession to the teacher union.
All I could think was, "WTF!?" I didn't move to Montana to send my children to schools beholden to Randi Weingarten
and the radically woke teacher union. Re-Effing-Instate normal class scheduling on Wednesdays. How is it legal that the
school district is depriving students of hundreds of hours of classroom time just as a concession to the unions?
I urge the City Council to leverage all its levers of power to compel KPS to cease and desist its stealing of instruction on
kids, and likewise detrimental impact on parents, employers and society. If KPS refuses to reverse course on
Wednesdays, I will continue to boycott KPS on Wednesdays and we will also opt to not donate to Hedges (last year, we
donated $6,000 to Cornelius Hedges school).
I recognize that Superintendent Hill has a difficult job coordinating labor and budgets, but don't we all? It is hard enough
for me to find labor to work for me, but Wednesdays are even more difficult, because KPS forces many parents to not
work on Wednesdays.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or feedback.
Sincerely,
Reynolds Cameron
