public comment on proposed fee structure for solid waste Devonna MorganAimee Brunckhorst From: Bill and Devvi <billmor@cyberport.net> Sent: Monday, June 13, 2022 2:27 PM To: Kalispell Meetings Public Comment Subject: EXTERNAL public comment on proposed fee structure for solid waste Hello, City Clerk I don't object to an inflationary increase to our solid waste fees as proposed in your June 7, 2022 letter. In fact, when you break out the first year increase for Residential (me), this service would cost me $10.68/month. I feel that is a good value for the service provided, and expect that cost would be a lot higher if offered by a commercial vendor for private residence. I do however, object to any reason for increase be associated with the God -awful rate of growth for this community at the expense of long time residents. I feel that the recent water rate increase that impacted us are also related to the capacity demand of new residents in our city limits. I feel those impact fees belong to the one-time permit process to build new construction or the additional impact from remodel permits that increase capacity. Those impact fees need to be the funding source for your proposal: "additional resources to provide service in new areas within the city limits". Thank you for the comment opportunity.
