rising cost of everything. Including rent Public Comment from M. Including rent I'm sure this is not coming at no surprise. Everything has increase dramatically, notjust gas and food. After renting my house in empire loop since 2018 with perfect rent attendance they raised the rent by $400 just because they can. Are we getting anything extra for a 34% rent increase? No. Are there any renter rights laws that prevent rent gouging? No. Are there any fieseable options out there for me and my wife? No You should never be expected to rent a 1200sgft house in Kalispell for $2650.00 !! which is the asking price on realtor dot corn for a small house with no garage on four mile right now. I'm not sure where everyone thinks people are getting all this extra money from. Incomes haven't increased, just cost of living, price off goods and services, taxes has. Hedge funds has made it that no regular person can afford to buy a house. They come in with cash offers well above asking. The price of houses has tripled in the past few years. Normal 1300sgft homes with hardly any land are going for $400+. We all know this is not sustainable. It's solely based on greed and I'm sure fraud is mixed in there somewhere. It usually is in these power grab type plays. My question to you is, what are you willing to quickly do to protect the average citizens of Kalispell?? I've written a similar email to Gov Gianforte because this is going to go from really bad to critical here soon. When everyday life is no longer sustainable, then crime and homelessness will rise, and rise quickly. Bad things always happen when people become desperate. I'm a well paid paramedic, my wife is one semester away from a nursing degree. We make decent money and that'll increase soon. So if this is affecting us, I can only imagine the nightmare many others are going through. We all need to get this crap in check before it gets out of hand. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing some ideas. M. Parratore Sent from Mail for Windows
