RE: Annual Board and Committee Appointments
BACKGROUND: Staggered terms on the various City of Kalispell citizen advisory boards and
committees will expire April 30, 2022. Several boards also have ongoing vacancies. Notice of
board openings was provided via advertising in the Daily Inter Lake, through the city website,
social media, and press media outlets. All applicants, whether reapplying or new, were asked to
fill out an online, fillable application form.
The Mayor, with the consent and advice of the Council shall make board appointments. Please see
the following board list, with hyperlinks to each board's webpage. Please refer to the webpage for
descriptions regarding the purpose, membership requirements and term lengths of the individual
boards, and their current board members. Membership requirements have been verified for all
applicants. Staff will continue to recruit and accept applications throughout the year for all boards
and committees who have ongoing vacancies or positions that are not appointed by the Mayor at
this time.

ALTERNATIVES: Mayor Johnson offer recommendations for each board separately, followed
by individual council motions to accept the recommendation and confirm the appointments. If the
Mayor's recommendation is rejected by the majority of council, "the Mayor shall entertain a
motion from any other council member recommending another applicant for the position..."
(Ordinance 1733).

The City of Kalispell has some very exciting potential in terms of growth. It had a great
deal of it's historic downtown buildings intact and the Core plan and new linear park is
going to open up some incredible opportunities also. Well thought out development can
greatly increase the desireability of a City for business owners and developers, plus
make it a better place to live, work, shop, etc. for it's residents.

or commission:
I have served on the Architectural Review Committee for several terms now, and feel my
architectural experience is of value when reviewing projects. Not only do I feel I have a
good handle on the aesthetics of buildings, I also understand some of the practicalities
such as budgets and current building practices. Serving on this committee, I continuously
strive to work with applicants to come up with the best possible project - problem solving
with the applicants to achieve results that are good for everyone.

Assets Protection Executive at Target, I was able to maintain positive relationships with
several officers and enjoyed the experience. I attended the Citizens Police Academy.

I believe my reappointment to theTBID would provide continuity on the board as we move
forward and continue to work through the several exciting initatives we have started. I
have enjoyed navigating through tremendous highs and lows in the tourism industry over
the past couple of years and am proud that we have been able to increase occupancy
and ADRs despite the challenges. I believe my voice and experience are valuable to the
board as our community and tourism opportunities grow.

I grew up in the Flathead Valley. I am passionate about helping Kalispell's tourism market
thrive. I am a Leadership Flathead alum and have a decade of hospitality and sales

opportunities. I have extensive board and volunteer experience in various local
non -profits such as the Cancer Support Community, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Abbie
Shelter and Violence Free Crisis Line. I have experience creating budgets and providing
financial and operational oversight for non-profit organizations.

My family and I relocated to Kalispell, Montana in 2020 with the specific intention of
contributing to the urban community. All of our investments thus far have been in
downtown Kalispell, including an investment in much -needed low income housing.
Assisting the city staff in its urban renewal efforts is perfectly suited to my personal
mission as well as my professional experience.

I have a degree in architecture and urban planning from Bryn Mawr College and a
Barnes -de Mazia Certificate in public art from the Barnes Foundation. My volunteer and
board experience has focused on contributions to city building and development. To move
to Montana, I resigned from our local school board's building development committee and
from our local Community Emergency Response Team. It's my goal to use my real estate
experience, my education, and commitment to public service for the benefit of others.
