ORDINANCE NO. 1161
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL
WHEREIN THE TERM "MAYOR" IS USED TO DESIGNATE THE OFFICIAL
AUTHORIZED TO UNDERTAKE OFFICIAL ACTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, BY
STRIKING THE WORD "MAYOR" AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFORE THE TERM
"CITY MANAGER",'AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as of 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the lst day of October,
1990, the City of Kalispell, pursuant to Montana law, officially
altered its form of government from the Council -Mayor form to the
Council -Manager form, and
WHEREAS, ordinances enacted prior to the 1st day of October,
1990, empower, authorize and direct that the Mayor of the City of
Kalispell undertake certain administrative acts on behalf of the
City of Kalispell, and
WHEREAS, under the Council -Manager form of government the
City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City, and
WHEREAS, in order to impart upon the City Manager the
authority to act as the chief administrative officer of the City
it is necessary that the ordinances of the City of Kalispell be
amended to so read.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That all ordinances of the City of
Kalispell, wherein the term "Mayor" is used to
designate the official authorized to undertake official
action on behalf of the City, are hereby amended by
striking the term "Mayor" and substituting therefore
the term "City Manager".
SECTION II. Declaration of an emergency, under Title
10, Chapter 3, Montana Code Annotated, is and shall
remain within the province of the Mayor.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty
(30) days from and after its final passage by the City
Council.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AND APPROVED
BY THE MAYOR THIS 15th DAY OF OCTOBER, 1990.
