ORDINANCE N0. 1127
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1119, FIXING THE LIMITS OF THE
SALARY AND COMPENSATION OF THE CITY OFFICIALS, SUPERVISORS, AND EMPLOYEES
PURSUANT TO TITLE 7, CHAPTER 4, PART 42, M.C.A., BEGINNING JULY 1,
1988; REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The salaries and compensation of City Officers,
Supervisors, and Employees for the period beginning July 1,
1988, are hereby established as set out on Exhibit "A",
attached hereto and which, by this reference, is made a part
hereof. Appropriations shall be made to pay same when due.
The said salaries and compensations are established as maximums
for each Position listed for said period and, except for
elected Officers of the City, apply to incumbent personnel
only in such positions, except as may be provided to the
contrary in any lawful and binding collective bargaining
agreement to which the City is or may become a party.
Should it become necessary for the said incumbents to be
replaced for any reason, the Mayor and the City Council will
establish the salary and compensation for the person replacing
said incumbent in the position listed.
SECTION II. Longevity increments and medical insurance
premiums shall be paid as provided by law, contract or as
directed by the City Council. The annual service anniversary
date for all Employees is July lst of each year; however, an
Employee must have at least six months continuous employment
by the City before being considered to have one year longevity.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
e ect as regularly provided by law; all salaries and compen-
sation provided for herein shall be paid retroactive to July
1, 1988, except as provided for herein.
SECTION IV. All prior salary and compensation ordinances of
t e City and any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

For each officer add $475.00 clothing allowance per year, paid
in one lump sum, on or before September 15 of each fiscal year.
The Anniversary Date for All Unit Members Will Become July 1 of
Each Fiscal Year.
Employees Must Work 135 Days to Qualify for the Step Increase
for the Next Year.
Policemen have the following paid holidays: New Year's Day,
Martin Luther King's Birthday, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birth-
day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's
Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and General Election Day.

Uniform Allowance to be paid per collective bargaining agreement
in force, at $275.00 per employee per year in a lump sum.
Firemen have eleven (11) paid holidays.
The City shall determine the insurance carrier and contribute
the full premium amount determined by the employee's status (single,
married, or family) each month for the health insurance coverage.
Any increase over the premiums herein specified shall be paid by
bargaining unit employees subject to payroll deduction.
All qualified EMT's will receive $25.00 per month - must qualify
every two (2) years for certification.

Tight Shift Differential $30.00 per month
The above base pay is to be supplemented with longevity
pay based on a rate of 1% of a base of $5.00 per hour,
(which is 5 cents) tines years of service. Longevity
pay increases will be computed at .duly 1st. Employees
will be eligible for longevity only after at least
six (6) months service prior to each July 1st.
Probationary wage rate per hour for new employees - 90%
of classification pay.
