BE TT ORDATNED BY THE CTTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALTSPELL
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 7, Kalispell City Code is hereby
amen e to read as follows:
Sec. 7-1. License to engage in business and bond
required;
exception.
No person, firm or corporation, except telephone and tele-
graph companies, shall engage in the business of installing,
repairing or altering electrical wiring or conductors inside
of any building within the corporate limits of the. City of
Kalispell, except central stations, power houses or sub-
stations, for the purpose of transmitting electrical energy
for light, heat, power or for any appliance or apparatus,
without first obtaining a license therefor from the City
upon payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars per annum. He
shall also furnish a public liability bond in the sum of one
thousand dollars, approved as to form and sufficiency by the
City Council, and conditioned that he will in good faith,
perform all the things required of him by the ordinances of
the City, and that if any injury to any person, or damage to
any property results by reason of his failure or neglect to
conform with this chapter or applicable state law, he shall
save harmless and indemnify such person injured, or the
owner of such property damaged. All licenses shall expire
on the thirty-first day of December of the year in which
such licenses are issued. The public liability bond shall
be continued and kept in force as long as the assured is
engaged in such business. Fees shall not be reduced when
the license will run for less than a year. The license of
any person engaged in doing electrical work may, by the City
council, be revoked, if it is proven toe its satisfaction-- at
a public hearing that such person wilfully, or through care-
lessness or ignorance, violates or permits its employees to
violate any of the provisions of this chapter or applicable
state law.
Sec. 7-2. Runnin& electric wires over, under or above public
sidewalks to heat automobile engines, etc.
It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct electricity
over or across the sidewalks, boulevards or public ways of
the City by means of extension cords or electric wires for
the purpose of heating the engines of motor vehicles, or for
any other purposes, and no such electric wires shall be
placed or left either on public sidewalks, boulevards or
ways of the City, nor shall they be strung over such public
sidewalks, boulevards or ways of the City; provided, however,
nothing herein shall be construed so as to interfere with
the work of contractors, artisans or any other persons con-
ducting their business in the regular way wherein it may be
necessary and proper to conduct electricity over the public
ways of the City under their direct and constant supervision.
Sec. 7-3. Penalties for violation of preceding section.
Any violation of the preceding section shall constitute
a nuisance which may be abated as provided in Chapter 18.
Any person violating the preceding section shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor.
SECTION II. All parts and portions of Chapter 7, Kalispell
City Co e not amended hereby are repealed.
SECTION ITT. This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days
after inal passage by the City Council and approval by the
Mayor.
